LESSONS
Private lesson is offered weekly in 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute. If students want to have twice a week, the tuition will be doubled. Younger students may begin with the shortest lesson period, with 5th to 9th grade students generally taking the 45-minute lesson and high school students and adult students taking the 45- and 60-minute lesson periods.
A small group lesson is offered weekly in 50-minutes. With small classes of up to 3 students per class, students are grouped according to their age, skill level and individual learning needs.
COMMUNICATION
It is very important to me to keep an open line of communication with parents and students, and I’m always happy to answer any questions or concerns parents might have. Because of my teaching schedule, it is usually easiest to contact me by email or text. If parents would like to talk on the phone or meet in person, let me know, and I can set up a conference time that works for us both.
PRACTICE EXPECTATION
Practice is the best way to improve one's violin/viola playing skills. The practice expectations will help the student be as prepared as possible for each individual lesson as progress is made most quickly by those students who maintain the recommended practicing time.
This also helps to establish a practice routine for each student’s physical and mental strength, so that each lesson is more productive, thereby increasing the value of each lesson.
Practice expectations increase with the longer lesson periods.
-
Students taking 30-minute lessons should practice 30 minutes/day, 4-5 days/week.
